A new career is a big change in your life, so we want to help you learn as much as possible about a job at Family Express. We hope you like what you see.
Do we promote from within?
Yes. As a matter of fact we prefer to promote employees that understand our culture and that have a vested interest in the success of our company. We do not promote by seniority. There are several key factors that are considered when an employee is being considered for a promotion.
Will I be asked to work overtime?
Almost never. We believe quality of life is important at all levels of our company and well rested employees make happy customers.
Will I ever work alone?
Sometimes! All stores have double coverage (meaning two people working at the same time) at multiple times in the day however there will be times that an employee works alone. Family Express is proud to say that we have the most productive work force in the industry.
Does Family Express have a uniform?
Yes. Family Express provides all our employees with free shirts, pants and in the hot summer shorts are also available. We are sticklers on our dress code because we want all of our employees to display a professional image that is inviting to our customers: no visible tattoos, facial piercings or tongue posts can be worn while on duty. Men’s hair not to exceed collar length and facial hair must be neatly groomed.
Do I get a lunch or dinner break?
Again our employees are the most productive workforce so they have developed a talent for eating on the go. Our stores are very busy however there are down times when you can grab a quick bite as long as you do not wait on customers with your mouth full.
Can I choose which store I work in?
Not necessarily. We ask that all of our employees be willing to work within a 15 mile radius of their home.
Will I be asked to work holidays?
Yes. There is never a day that our customers do not need us. In order to keep it fair for all employees throughout the company we require everyone to be willing to work holidays. We pay time and a half for the six major holidays: New Years Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, 4th of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day.
How often will I get paid?
We pay our employees every two weeks on Friday by direct deposit.
